Derrick began his yoga journey in 2021, initially drawn to the practice as a way to stretch and improve physical fitness. Like many beginners, he faced challenges, particularly with hamstring tightness, but these obstacles became opportunities for growth and self-discovery. A breakthrough moment came when he completed his first wheel pose, sparking a deep passion for yoga that transformed his approach to both movement and mindfulness.

What started as a physical practice soon evolved into a holistic journey of self-acceptance. Yoga taught Derrick to embrace his body’s unique challenges while continuing to show up on the mat with perseverance and curiosity. As a yoga teacher, Derrick creates an inviting space for students of all levels, especially those new to yoga. His classes are grounded in the belief that yoga is for everyone—no matter where you begin. Derrick encourages students to explore the balance between effort and ease, reminding them that yoga isn’t about perfection, but about connecting with themselves. Through mindful movement and supportive guidance, Derrick helps his students discover their own strength, flexibility, and self-compassion, one practice at a time.
