Strength beyond speed. Slow resistance training, high-intensity results.
A Pilates-inspired strength workout designed to build total-body power with deliberate, controlled movements.”
LabX is Pilates-inspired strength training, redefined.
- Slow, controlled movements = deeper muscle engagement
- Low impact, high intensity = safe but serious burn
- Full-body resistance training = sculpted, strong, and balanced
- Every move is intentional. Every second under tension builds strength.
How It Works – The LabX Training Method

LabX is built on slow resistance training—a science-backed method that keeps your muscles under tension longer, maximizing strength, endurance, and control. Every movement is deliberate, challenging, and designed for transformation.
💡More time under tension = More muscle engagement = More strength.
The LabX Formula (Key Elements of the Workout)
Slow Resistance Training
✔Move slower, activate deeper → No momentum, just pure muscle engagement.
✔Stronger with every second → Controlled movements lead to greater endurance.
✔Low impact, high intensity → Protects joints while delivering serious results.
The LabFormer – Designed for Strength & Control
✔Adjustable resistance → Tailor your intensity as you progress.
✔Seamless movement transitions → Stay connected and in control throughout class.
✔A total-body experience → Every rep strengthens multiple muscle groups.

REAL RESULTS
Here from some of our LabX Fam
It was a comprehensive, fun and engaging course for new and aspiring barre teachers-to-be.
I came out feeling very fulfilled and assured that there will still be support after course completion. Attendees not looking to teach will also benefit from having increased self-awareness through this course when they go for future classes.
Thank you Jasmine, Leandra and Joelle for your patience, guidance and encouragement!
As someone who practiced barre for a couple years before joining BLTT, I entered the training with a pretty broad understanding of barre, albeit quite superficially.
I loved how the training delved so deeply into every aspect of barre and really allowed me to acquire so much knowledge over such a short period of time, as well as introducing me to new aspects of a solid barre class, like musicality, effective cueing techniques etc. that I was not aware of previously.
The structure of the course also allowed for a few days of assimilating and practicing whatever was taught to really cement my knowledge before the next training weekend, which I found really effective for my learning.
I really appreciated all the constant feedback given as the training progressed because it was very helpful in correcting any misconceptions I had about barre / teaching barre on the spot and I was able to continue my learning more efficiently with new perspectives. Overall, this course was excellent in helping me deepen my passion for barre, and also understanding why I had this passion at all in the first place. I really, really appreciate the time and energy taken to curate and refine the training because the expertise and good vibes present throughout the 6 days were really incredible.
Thank you Leandra, Jo & Jasmine!
No regrets at all stepping out of my comfort zone to join the Barre Lab Teacher Training!

This prompted me to find out more about the Barre Teacher Training!
It was very empowering to see my progress from not being able to verbalise a few sentences during the first week of training and transforming to a point where I am now able to confidently teach a 55 min class!
My most memorable part of this journey would be the friendships made with like-minded people who share the same passion of Barre. The training covered in-depth understanding of muscle groups to help me understand their functional movement, effective cueing techniques, demo, injury and pre-natal considerations and musicality that set me up for a solid foundation.
Most of the hard work actually comes during the practice teach and observation classes.
I am thankful for the constant feedback from my peers and the Trainers!
Thank you, Leandra, Joelle and all my peers for such an awesome journey!
(just to prove to myself that maybe i could do anything I set my mind to hehe).
From anatomy to effective cueing and sequencing, every aspect covered allowed me to gain more clarity in my practice and teaching classes. As someone who enjoys finding out how way things work, hearing about the thought process behind how each class is put together was probably my biggest takeaway.
There was also a sense of community with my batch mates that helped me push through the intensity of back to back training, a shared experience we still laugh about.
I really do believe barre is for everyone and similarly, I believe this training is for everyone. Whether you have intentions of teaching, regaining confidence in yourself or doing something crazy and unexpected, there’s no harm in trying 😀
I didn’t really expect to learn a lot but I was pleasantly surprised.
I gained new aspects of teaching, such as musicality and how to use music to move and motivate the class
and help with the cueing when words are not enough.
I also love how they emphasised on affirming language in cueing and being inclusive to everyone.
It’s definitely helped me in becoming a more effective and inclusive instructor.
I would recommend this training to aspiring instructors, or even current instructors in other movements.
The training provided an in-depth exploration of every aspect of barre, and it was incredibly transformative. It not only enhanced my understanding of barre’s foundational principles but also taught me the intricacies of effective teaching. One of the most memorable moments of the training was realizing that I could confidently create and structure my own class sequences. That milestone gave me the confidence to think like an instructor, rather than just a practitioner.
I loved the structured approach to the curriculum. It was thoughtfully designed to build our skills step-by-step. The combination of theory, practical sessions, and hands-on experience was incredibly effective. I particularly appreciated the focus on anatomy which helped me understand the movements on a deeper level and refine my ability to cue them properly.
This training has not only deepened my passion for barre but also strengthened my connection to a vibrant, like-minded community, and I’m excited to continue growing and helping others discover the joy and benefits of barre.
A huge thank you to Leandra, Joelle, and all of my fellow trainees! Your support, encouragement, and feedback have been invaluable.
For those considering this journey, my advice is to approach it with an open mind. Remember, true growth happens outside your comfort zone, and it’s through the challenges that you’ll experience your greatest progress.
Understanding how different muscle groups engage during specific barre exercises was insightful. I also learnt how to effectively cue people in a way that is clear, motivating, and accessible for everyone in class. My key takeaway was that even a small adjustment can make a big difference in a student’s experience as it is helping them avoid injury & get the most out of their workout.
Last but not least, I treasure the friendship that was born out of this training with fellow trainees! ☺️
Leandra and Joelle are amazing at sharing all the theory knowledge and also, equipping us with all the practical skills needed to be a great barre instructor!
I will recommend BLTT to anyone who's interested in deepening their understanding in Barre!
I also enjoyed learning about body language and verbal encouragement. It gave me a better understanding on how a barre class can be enhanced by the smallest action from the instructor.
I highly recommend anyone who has a passion for teaching or simply wish to take their barre practice to the next level to join BLTT!
Beyond the technical skills, I learned so much about cueing, musicality, and class structure. And what made this journey even more special were the friendships I formed along the way. If you’re thinking about joining, I highly recommend it. It’s an incredible opportunity to challenge yourself, deepen your love for barre, and grow in ways you never imagined!
I recommend this training to anyone who loves barre. This training makes teaching barre fun and not too technical to teach! Just do it and enjoy the flow!

How is the machine different from the Reformer?
The Pilates Reformer is a simpler and smaller machine designed for exercises rooted in traditional Pilates principles.
The Labformer is a more complex machine, with platforms, handlebars, bungee, and pulleys, allowing for a broader range of exercises at higher intensities. Check out our Labformer video here.
How long is a class? Is it high intensity?
A LabX class is only 45 minutes but packs a punch! It is a high-intensity and low-impact workout, meaning that you get the juicy challenge without putting stress on your joints. Our classes keep your muscles under constant tension for a full-body burn. But remember that you control the resistance and pace, so you can adjust the intensity to suit your needs.
- Are LabX workouts suitable for pregnancy / postpartum?
LabX can be safe during pregnancy, if you have prior experience with SRT and your doctor has cleared you for exercise. However, modifications will be necessary as your pregnancy progresses to ensure your safety and comfort. If you’re new to LabX, it’s better to start after your pregnancy.

For someone who signed up for BLTT thinking “let’s just try”, I came out of it feeling pretty empowered!
Empowered with not only the knowledge but also confidence. The amazing team of trainers are more than willing to answer any questions you have. The course structure sets you up for success. It is extremely comprehensive and easily understandable for someone like me who has never done anatomy before.
Through the training, I also gained new like-minded friends! Friends who enjoy barre as much as me. I also found that I have a very different “teacher voice” that comes out when I practice teach 🤭 Jokes aside, I gained a deeper appreciation into what kind of effort goes into not only planning a well rounded full body workout, but also how to cue students to move, how to be aware and ensure students are aligned.
This also ultimately enables students who come to class to leave satisfied. I want to be able to teach such classes as well🤞🏻I would recommend this training to anyone who enjoys barre, or wants to know why certain exercises burn, or wants to teach, or just make friends with people who like barre just as much as you do. Just try!
